SCNS Energy Bars for Golfers

with No Comments

SCNS Sports Foods and their Energy Bars dedicated to golfers.

There are a TON of energy bars on the market. So why should anyone consider the PLUS+ BARS from SCNS? Well, it’s a tough sell to get people to engage in a new product. But, one way to ensure some sales is to target a specific niche. That is precisely what SNSC Sports Foods has done, and you guessed it, they have targeted golfers.

Energy Bars

Golf is a multi-billion dollar industry. It’s no wonder legitimate entrepreneurs, and anyone with some garage space is trying to get their foot in the door. Being a fan of the hit show Shark Tank, it makes me cringe to see a company eliminate a massive majority of the consumer base by aiming at just one area of sales. But, I have to give credit to SCNS, they have an ideology that seems to be working. While there’s no reason a swimmer or a soccer player couldn’t enjoy a PLUS+ Bar, they have put all their cards on the table as a Golf brand. For that, I give them kudos.

With a variety of products, Golfers are sure to find one for them.

The PLUS+ BARS come on four different flavors:

  • 1st Tee PLUS+ Oatmeal Raisin Nutrition Bar

  • 1st Tee PLUS+ Chocolate Peanut Nutrition Bar

  • 10th Tee PLUS+ Chocolate Peanut Caramel Energy Bar

  • 10th Tee PLUS+ Peanut Honey Energy Bar

They also have a selection of Gluten and Dairy free bars:
  • 1st Tee Honey Almond Snack Bar

  • 1st Tee Dark Chocolate Chip Trail Mix Bar

  • 10th Tee Cranberry Trail Mix Bar

You can tell from the creative packaging and naming the bars are designed to give you some get up and go for the start of your round. Then, at the turn, the idea turns to sustainability and bringing it home on a high note!

My go to was the Chocolate Peanut Nutrition Bar

The flavor was outstanding, and I was happy that the ingredients were all pronounceable. You won’t find any chemically treated “items” inside the SCNS Bars.

From the SCNS website about the bar:

1st Tee PLUS+ Chocolate Peanut Nutrition Bars help you to keep calm and play on, whether your game is on the links, the court, the gym – or anywhere! A divine layer of chocolate is topped with hearty oats, soy, and crisp rice. Chamomile hops, and valerian root support calmness and focus. A balanced combination of complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, and minerals provide nutrition.

The Energy Bars were a surprise as well

My favorite, by far, was the Peanut Honey. It had a much more appealing taste than the Chocolate Peanut Caramel.

From the SCNS website about the bar:

10th Tee PLUS+ Peanut Honey Energy Bars are formulated to prolong your game, whether it’s through the back nine or crossing the finish line! Wrapped in a luscious vanilla yogurt coating, inside is an irresistible balance of peanuts, honey, and peanut butter. Gluten and Dairy Free were not for me.

I’m not anywhere near a nutritionist or someone who should be advising anybody on what to eat and what to avoid. Understand this is my opinion and what I found to be the case with the SCNS Bars I received.

I enjoyed the bars mentioned above and found the taste to be on par with a majority of the energy bars in the market. However, the Gluten and Dairy free bars lacked something that makes my taste buds sing. While I wasn’t a fan of the bars, I did have a few of my golfing colleagues give them a try, and they liked them quite a bit. It’s obvious, if you’re interested in purchasing the bars, you’re going to want to grab a variety pack or find a golf shop that’s carrying them in stock.

JT is much more of a health nut than I am and he felt the ingredients were less than desirable from a “Healthy” standpoint. The all natural ingredients are a plus, but I wouldn’t recommend these as a meal substitute by any means. Here are the nutritional facts from my favorite overall bar, the Chocolate Peanut Nutrition Bar:
